I loved this so much. It reminded me of another book I liked, Tell Her Story by Margot Hunt. Both stories revolve around a personal cold case and a podcast used as a tool for investigation.

The Girl at the Party follows Laura and Chris who are making a podcast about their friend Stephanie’s murder. After Stephanie was murdered the entire friend group stopped talking. Now with the podcast, they are all talking again for the first time in years, and not everyone is happy to be looking into Stephanie’s murder.

The podcast was all Chris. He has a successful career in it and convinced Laura to join him. Chris did get a little annoying at times but it was only because he took the podcast so seriously, which he should.

Everyone is a little suspicious and I couldn’t figure out who the killer was. When the reveal happens I wouldn’t say I was shocked but I did not figure it out.

This is a great mystery and I highly recommend it.

Final Score 5/5
