What a way to start a story! The first chapter has you on the edge of your seat! I was hooked immediately.
Beth Lundberg has always dreamed of being a pilot. The joy of just being up in the sky was all she could think about. However, flight lessons are just too expensive, and with her mom being sick for a while, she needed to put her dreams on hold. So she continues to work at the town diner to help provide for her family.
Beth has a wealthy half-brother, Shawn, and they have a close relationship. So when his best friend, George Bunsen, a pilot, tells Beth he can be her flight instructor, she doesn’t believe him. For as long as she can remember, when George saw her, he would leave the room. So she is genuinely convinced that he doesn’t like her. The story is filled with perfect banter and many laugh-out-loud moments.
I loved all the characters in this book! From the main characters to the side characters. Each played a perfect role in the story. They showed a great sense of found family.
This is a must-read! The pacing of the book was perfect; I was engaged from the start!
Lastly, Lauren Connolly, can we get a book about Shawn and Darla, please?! They stole the show at times!
