Chad Zunker is a pretty new author to me. This is my third book by him, and he has now become a name that I will instantly read. In His Wake is an expertly crafted thriller that has me on the edge of my seat, waiting to find out everything that happened.
The story mostly follows Dean. Dean is a reporter who, a few months earlier, got news that his estranged father had passed. Dean has two brothers, one of whom is a big character in this story and works for the FBI. After a political assassination, Dean goes headfirst down a political rabbit hole that could lead to his father’s being alive and maybe even being a suspect as the assassin.
With the help of his ex, April. Dean investigates every angle of the assassination and finds himself in the crosshairs of the true assassin. While on the run, Dean refuses to fill in his brother and takes matters into his own hands. This was truly compelling and kept me guessing until the end. Any thriller fan should check this out, even if political thrillers are not your thing.
