If you are not in the holiday spirit yet, this book will get you there.
The Best Christmas Ever starts with Mabel Miller, a children’s author living in a beautiful old house in the Vermont woods who has no intention of celebrating Christmas. Brooke, meanwhile, has planned every detail of a magical family Christmas at her parents’ house. Then a fierce snowstorm forces Brooke, her husband and their two daughters to take shelter at Mabel’s. Also stranded are Izzy and Jason, two colleagues with unfinished business and undeniable chemistry. Suddenly Mabel is hosting the last thing she wanted, a full house for Christmas.
This is a great feel good read. The snowed in setting is cozy, the cast is full of characters you want to spend the holidays with, and the story is told through multiple points of view that weave together really well. There is warmth, laughter, a little romance, and a lot of heart as this group of strangers slowly becomes something closer to family.
It is the kind of book that makes you want a fire, a blanket and a hot drink while you read. Sarah Morgan knows exactly how to deliver a Christmas story and this one is a real treat.
