Book: Take Me With You

I honestly am not sure how I feel about this one.
The story follows Jesse, who is a college professor. He has been married to his husband, Norman, for over 30 years. One night, Norman disappears into a beam of light in the sky.
Jesse has to learn to live without him, from everyday things to much bigger things in his life. While Jesse is grieving the disappearance of his husband, Norman’s sister, Lally, drops in, asking for something unexpected. I did really like this aspect of the story.
I think it was the alien aspect and not getting too much information about that storyline. I know the story wasn’t solely about that, but it did just seem odd.
This is a very unusual, heartfelt story. I did like seeing Jesse find himself again.
