Kristen’s Review:

Katherine Center does it again — this book reminded me exactly why she’s an auto-buy author for me. I absolutely loved it!

The story follows Jojo, who has struggled with relationships her entire life after basing her idea of love on a kiss she shared with a boy named Finn when she was ten years old. She comes up with a plan to finally get together with Finn during her sister’s wedding cruise. Being stuck on a ship together for days seems like the perfect opportunity to make him notice her, especially with the help of her sister and best friend, Cooper.

But the whole time, Cooper is the one constantly by her side.

I think Cooper officially made it onto my list of favorite book boyfriends. I loved everything about him — his humor, the way he always looked out for Jojo, and how dependable he was. The man stayed up all night taking care of her sunburn… automatic win right there.

The side characters were just as lovable, and I was especially happy with how her dad’s storyline played out.

You’ll be rooting for Cooper and Jojo from the very beginning, and honestly, this book is worth reading for the banter alone!

Final Score 5/5

Brian’s Review:

Katherine Center is an auto-buy author for me. I was so excited for The Shippers! After reading the blurb, I was a little nervous that there might be too much going on, but the story was perfect. It has just the right amount of messiness in the best way.

I have come to expect her books to really bring something new to the table. I feel that every one of her books I have read has always been unique. I did find that factor missing from The Shippers. I know that sounds negative, but it’s not really. This is just perfect Rom-Com comfort food, but it offers nothing new. Some of her past books, like Hello Stranger and The Bodyguard, were so unique that The Shippers left me wanting just a little more.

I will continue to be excited for every one of Katherine Center’s releases. Even though this book did not blow me away like her others, it is still one of the better books I have read this year.

Final Score: 4/5
