Thank you, NetGalley and Macmillan Audio, for an advanced audio copy.

This is a weird thing to admit. I have no idea why, but I went into this book being such a hater. I was determined not to like this book for no good reason at all. It didn’t take long for me to start fighting with my inner thoughts about how this book is great and that I need to stop hating it.

After I got over whatever issues I had and realized how good this book is, I was hooked. It’s a longer book than expected for the type of story, but it never felt too long. Sisters Maeve and Therese have drifted apart and then, unfortunately, lost their mother. Their mother was scammed out of all of her money before she died, and now the only thing of value they have is a painting that is believed to be from their ancestor. But is it a fake?

The sisters embark on a journey to rediscover themselves and learn more about their ancestors. They travel to Ireland and meet such wonderful side characters. There were so many subplots that all came together perfectly. You even get a POV from their ancestor to help bridge some of the gap there.

This is the perfect summer read, and I will be recommending this one to everyone who will listen.

Final score: 5/5
