Book Review: The Romance Revival

Book: The Romance Revival

Author: Christina Lauren

Thank you so much, Gallery Books, for the free book!

I picked up this book thinking I would read one chapter to get acquainted with the story, and before I knew it, I had read over 100 pages. I could not put this book down. I became fully invested.

I have read Christina Lauren’s books and have enjoyed them, but there was something about this story. It was very different from the past books they have written, but in a great way!

This story about Emery and Luca will suck you in. Emery and Luca are complete opposites. Emery is a workaholic who would rather stay indoors. Luca is a landscaper who enjoys life and anything outdoorsy, from surfing to running. They fell for each other fast and hard, getting married a few months after meeting.

The story is told through a dual POV of Emery and Luca. We learn about Emery’s top-secret job as a scientist, and that even her husband doesn’t know the extent of it until one night, when a tragic accident takes Luca away from Emery. Using Emery’s secret work, she revives Luca. He loses his memory and has to relearn and remember things. Emery finally realizes that her relationship was once on the verge of disaster because she prioritized her work over everything. So she takes time off to help Luca recover and rebuild their relationship.

I also loved the side characters; they added to the story in a great way. I also really enjoyed the mystery portion of when strange things started happening.

I would say this second-chance romance must-read!

Final Score: 5/5
