Book Review: Falling Like Leaves

Book: Falling Like Leaves

Author: Misty Wilson

I bought this book at the end of last fall, so I made sure to read it this fall, and OMG I am so happy I did!

I absolutely fell in love with this book and the little town of Bramble Falls, Connecticut! Every character was wonderful and brought something special to the story. If you love Gilmore Girls and the charming town of Stars Hollow, you are going to love Bramble Falls.

The story follows Ellis, a high school senior whose parents decide to separate for a few months. As a result, she has to leave NYC with her mom and head to Bramble Falls, Connecticut, to stay with her aunt and cousin. She has to temporarily enroll in school there for the time being. Ellis is not happy about this arrangement at all and can’t wait to get back to NYC. She is a city girl with big dreams of following in her dad’s footsteps, and being in this small town is the last place she wants to be.

We learn she has spent some time in Bramble Falls in the past when she runs into her first best friend, who also happens to be her first kiss, Cooper, who wants nothing to do with her. I loved seeing their undeniable feelings for one another grow throughout the story.

Seeing Ellis slowly fall in love with the town and people in it was so heartwarming. I especially loved watching both Ellis and her mom begin to rediscover themselves while they are there. Seeing Ellis go from wanting nothing to do with the fall festivities to actually wanting to participate in all the events made me so happy!

I read this book after reading Trust Fall by Lynn Painter, and if you read and enjoyed that book, you will adore this one as well!

Stay tuned for my review on book 2: Falling Like Snow

Final Score 5/5
